"I cannot thank you enough for the honor this award bestows upon me. Thinking of Joe and how he was always thinking of others even through his hardest times, I have also tried to think of others in all that I do. I think of the architecture community and all who call Alumni Hall home as my family. I eat with them, celebrate with them, cry with them, and succeed with them. Their trust, friendship and well-being means just as much as the academics inside the building, and without their encouragement and solidarity, I am nothing. I thank you again for this amazing honor and I will cherish this as long as I live."
