The Joseph P. Veasey Award in Architecture shall be awarded by the Miami University Office of Student Financial Assistance to one or more undergraduate student in the second year studio in the Department of Architecture and Interior Design. The recipient should demonstrate exceptional service to fellow students, professors and the department. Exceptional service may include, but is not limited to: exhibiting leadership in group and department projects, promoting a positive sense of community among the second year class, demonstrating support of peers, contributing positively to the studio environment and displaying a collaborative and helpful manner. All students in the Architecture and Interior Design second year studios are eligible for this award. Students and faculty are encouraged to nominate specific candidates to the Department Chair. Selection is made by the Department’s annual awards committee, in conjunction with second year studio faculty. The Chair of the Architecture Department shall nominate the student to the Office of Student Financial Assistance.
